The recipient of this year’s D. Aubrey Moodie Employee Award is Amanda Sgarbossa, a care facilitator in the Childbirth Unit. She exemplifies accountability and commitment through her unwavering dedication to both her responsibilities and the well-being of her patients and team.  

As an example, when faced with an urgent clinical situation, she recognizes the need the need to pull key stakeholders together to a central location to have a quick meeting, determine the needed resources and plan the best path forward. She always steps up and goes the extra mile to ensure patient and unit safety.  

Her teammates say that no matter what challenge they face, she maintains open communication, so everyone feels well-informed and supported. Her proactive approach not only alleviates strain on the team but also results in improved patient outcomes and satisfaction. She creates an environment that is supportive and efficient.
