The Park Place Security Team - 2024 Dr. Aubrey Moodie team Award

The D. Aubrey Moodie Team Award is presented to a QCH team who provides excellence in the delivery of service and care. Nominees are put forward based on:

• Innovation and Perseverance 

This year’s recipient is the Park Place Security Team. Each member of the team was carefully selected for their role – dealing with many patients with dementia and other behaviours, and many elopement risks. They do so in a small tight space, without access to much additional support.  

The Park Place security team ensures the safety of everyone at the facility - stepping in with our more challenging patients. They work with the team to deescalate situations with patience, empathy, kindness and creativity.  They take the time to greet and chat everyone they encounter.  

They also exceed their job descriptions in many ways. They have integrated themselves into the team to solve every day challenges. They hold many hats being off site – and never say no to anyone. They help with basic maintenance, improvement projects, bringing patients into the hallway for company, participate in daily huddles, respond to patient requests, and provide updates on evolving issues.
