Black History Month at QCH
February is Black History Month. While it is important to mark annually, QCH recognizes that Black inclusion must remain an everyday and year-round priority.
QCH recognizes that our journey towards Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB), including a core focus on anti-racism and cultural safety, is just beginning. We are dedicated to making intentional and sustainable changes, recognizing the significant work ahead to achieve meaningful progress and the implementation of our Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Strategy.
As we implement our work plan and consult with our employees, physicians, patients, and their families, we will endeavour to:
Promote safe, accessible, and equitable care for Black patients, their families, and racially diverse communities, ensuring that everyone receives the care they deserve.
Improve the experiences of Black and racially diverse staff, physicians, and volunteers, fostering a more inclusive and supportive workplace.
Build meaningful partnerships with Black and racialized communities, prioritizing genuine collaboration, equitable health outcomes, cultural safety, and support for community-led initiatives.
