Meet our EDIB Team

Adeline Manikuzwe is the Coordinator of Culture, Retention and Recognition at QCH. Adeline is a Global Health Advocate and Professional for about 15 years with vital experience in leading the development and implementation of large projects. Adeline worked with public, non-governmental, and community organizations implementing health, equity, gender, human rights, and socioeconomic development programs over the past decade.

Dillon Black is the manager of Culture, Equity, and Belonging at QCH. Dillon is an award-winning trans/gender-nonconforming feminist, anti-violence advocate, and 2SLGBTQI+ rights activist, dedicated to social justice, equity, inclusion, and community development through an intersectional and trauma-informed approach. With over a decade of experience, Dillon has made a lasting impact in the Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence sector across Canada.

Together, Adeline and Dillon are at the helm of our efforts to create a healthcare environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

EDIB Intranet Hub for Staff

Our commitment to inclusivity shines through our newly launched EDIB Hub on our intranet. This hub serves as a comprehensive resource center where our staff can access learning materials, valuable resources, and updates on key initiatives aimed at fostering 2SLGBTQI+ inclusion at QCH.

Email Signatures

We introduced a new email signature for our staff that includes land acknowledgement and an option to share personal pronouns. By incorporating these elements, we demonstrate our dedication to respectful and inclusive communication.

Pride Network

We launched our Pride Network—a welcoming space open to all QCH staff, physicians, and volunteers. This network is designed to nurture connections, build community, and drive positive change. Beyond fostering a sense of belonging, this network will facilitate productive collaboration. With monthly meetings planned, 2SLGBTQI+ individuals have a platform to establish meaningful relationships, exchange insights, and collectively work toward transformative change.

As we conclude Ottawa's Capital Pride celebrations, we want to thank you all for your support, enthusiasm, and dedication to fostering a culture of inclusion and equity at Queensway Carleton Hospital. The journey continues, and together, we're making strides toward a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
