The new and improved, Golden Q
We are pleased to introduce you to our new and improved, Golden Q!
The Golden Q (formerly known as the Golden Bedpan Award) was created as a way for our teams to recognize each other for something they've done, to thank them for their hard work, and celebrate Team QCH.
A special thanks goes to Chris Colborne of Plant Services (pictured above) for his expert craftmanship and patience. Chris created this custom-made 'Q' from wood and mounted it on a base before adorning it with several coats of gold paint. This work of art will surely honour this great recognition award. Thank you!
The first team to receive the new Golden Q is the QCH Volunteer Team!
“Thank you for being the friendly face of our QCH! You provide comfort during a stressful time in a patient/family’s time in the hospital.
Your assistance in helping with wayfinding, answering questions, and pushing wheelchairs to appointments – all with a smile – is appreciated.
The expression of love through knitted creations (hats and “twiddlemuffs”) through all walks of life bring such comfort. The Gift Shop and Lottery are welcome distractions in what can be a very stressful environment and can make a hospital more manageable.
Thank you to the volunteer organizers for making this run effortlessly! Your willingness to give your time and service is tremendously generous and does not go unnoticed. Cheers to the blue-smocked team! Thank you!”
