Patient Portal Update
Since QCH first went live with the Patient Portal in June, more than 90,000 patients have enrolled in the Portal. Since then, five hospitals have gone live with the portal, and French and Spanish versions were added as of January 18.
Here’s how the Patient Portal has made a positive impact on the patient experience:
Virtual appointments save patients unnecessary calls and visits to the clinics, the hospital or their doctors, while still allowing visits to happen
Patients can receive an email when an appointment is booked, and they can view their appointments in the Portal
The patient can define a care partner, which allows them the opportunity to view the record. For example: spouses
Patients not only have access to current results, but also historical results that are uploaded to the portal
No more trips to Health Records to obtain paper copies or papers laying around the house. The Portal reduces costs for patients and helps to keep their records organized
Patients can view results and physician notes before an appointment to prepare a list of questions beforehand to maximize the time with the provider
Patients receive COVID-19 test results as soon as they are available. This helps to ease the minds of those concerned about their symptoms or wanting to visit a long-term care facility
The Portal is now multilingual, allowing users to view it in either French, English or Spanish
